Conservation Monday (Tuesday) #5

The Monday/Tuesday thing is now just the norm since I cannot seem to get things together on Monday. Regardless, Congress is back from their long summer break and starting to get back into the swing of things.

H.R.3448 : Cecil the Lion Endangered and Threatened Species Act of 2015
-In response to the killing of Cecil, this would extend the protections of the ESA to foreign species, and more significantly, prohibit the importation of trophies.

H.R.3462 : Sport Fish Restoration and Recreational Boating Safety Act of 2015
The bill proposes changes to the Dingell-Johnson Sport Fish Restoration Act to provide more funding for coastal wetlands protection and sport fish restoration but also reduces how much money could be available for recreational boating safety programs.

H.R.3483 : To foster bilateral engagement and scientific analysis of storing nuclear waste in permanent repositories in the Great Lakes Basin.
Establishes guidelines and procedures to research the potential ill effects of storing nuclear waste in an area close to the Great Lakes.

H.RES.417 : Impeaching Regina McCarthy, Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, for high crimes and misdemeanors.
Hahahahahaha

S.2014 : A bill to demonstrate a commitment to our Nation’s scientists by increasing opportunities for the development of our next generation of researchers.
Directs NIH to conduct studies on how to better prepare researchers for careers (likely aimed at postdocs).
